could be the back light going bad. there is a light behind the screen and they burn out. you will have to send it back to the manufacturer to get it repaired

You monitor has a degaus function. If you use it your screen should go back to normal. Like the other mentioned. There is probably a magnetic source nearby. Probably a speaker that should be moved away from the monitor.

Its simple - it should be because of electro magnetic field in the direction of the dark side of the monitor. see if there are any speakers or live plants.
If not you need to see a specialist who could tell you after opening the monitor.

check your display by changing directions(viewing directions, as display of LCD differs in some angles) if you find the same problem press deguass button on your screen. if this do not work contact compac service center.
