My desktop is displaying this message :

You may be a victim of software counterfeiting.

what does it mean ?

The desktop becomes black each time i return to desktop after closing a program and the message is displayed.

Please tell me the solution.

I too had the same proble a week before.There are two ways to solve it .The reason of the problem is that you have installed an XP update called Windows Geniune Advantage Notification.You cannot uninstall it . I have tried to uninstall it but couldn't.The first way is to buy a new OS and change the product key of the software that has been working. The second and most easiest way is to take a backup of everything you had and REINSTALL the OS.

Assuming you have a real copy install Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications from MS website.

the easyest way is to do a system restore to a date before update was installed

then turn off the updates

u don't have the real copy of ur windows...



u have to reformat it again and make sure u installed the real one...



or ask another suggestion from those who knows...
