I was playing a full screen game on my computer, and upon exiting out of it, my screen resolution was all messed up, and my task bar is below the reach of my monitor. Its like it stretched too far and i cannot access it with my mouse, because my monitor cuts it off. I tried to fool around with different screen resolutions, but they actually made it worse! If someone could PLEASE help me, it would be wonderful.

and by the way, I already did CTRL + ESC but that was never my issue, i need to adjust my screen so that it all fits on my monitor. thanks!

Reboot the computer into safe mode.

When the computer is comming back up and starting the operating system hit the F8 key a bunch of times until that catches. Choose "safe mode with networking". From there you can fix your screen. Restart the computer normally.

Hopefully that game does not do that all the time. If you have trouble with it again, try alt-tab and switch to a diffrent application or hit the windows key on your keyboard. Hopefully that will minimize your game and restore your screen resolution. Try your ctrl-alt-delete and end the task on the game. That way it ends the game without having to open it and change your resolution again to exit.

If it is a stand alone monitor, it should have some buttons to directly change the video settings or to access a menu to select and change video settings. If it is a laptop, the the settings are controlled by software that is the same as the menu system on the stand alone monitor. You simply need to adjust the settings (move or shrink the video on the physical screen) until the task bar is in view. Good luck, hope this helps.

It is possible that the game is still running in the background without you knowing. Get to the Task Manager via Ctrl, Alt, esc buttons and in the processes tab, look for the name of the game or part of it, right-click and click end process. See if that helps.

If not then just hold down your computer power button until it is turned off and turn it back on. That should help

First, right-click on the bar and see if "Lock Taskbar" is checked. If it is, un-check it. Then press and hold the left mouse button on the bar and drag the brar downward to the very bottom of the screen. You should see a grey rectangle outline appear on the bottom of the screen. Release the mouse button then, and it will move the taskbar to the bottom. You can also move the taskbar to the top and either side of the window as well.

There's an AUTO button on your monitor. Use that.

hopefully, you have a recent system restore point set ...that should correct the action, but I'm not sure what caused your problem ... aside from the game;-)
