ihave dell pp01l laptop i formated it & screen only opens in the middle and sides are black?

After formatting the laptop and setting up microsoft 2000 the screen did not appear in full in the screen area, but it was in the middle and only small area the rest was black that is on the sides. in summary the screen area was only 10 cm in the screen of 21 cm and that 10 cm is only in the middleand 6 cm on the sides was black please advice

Try setting up the Screen resolution for your laptop

Control Panel> Display Settings and then Screen resolution

Or you could load the correct driver of your VGA card that will help as well

Adjust your display settings. Play around with the resolution, and also play would with the freq setting. If you have it set to 60 Hz, change it to something different.

There might be an adjustment on the keyboard, usually the Fn key, and another key will allow you to fix the problem.

Ok you problem was kinda hard to understand thats probally why no one has ansered your question but if Microsoft 2000 messed up the way you screen is on your labtop then you need to take microsoft 2000 back off your computer because it wont work right on your computer... I work on computers I know these things so take my advise and please try it and see what happens it will bring everything back to normal...
