To find out what video card/adapter you have. Right click on my computer and then go under Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>Display adapters.

Click on the symbol for display adapters this should tell you what video adapter/card you have.

Once you find out what you have to to the site of the adapter's manufacturer. (a.k.a. go to Nvidia.com ATI.com etc.) and go to their download section for drivers and download the driver for the adapter you have.

I used a virtual PC (QEMU) with ReactOS (A Free Windows XP compatible OS) and the display proprities in ReactOS said I had no Video Adapter either! Even though the graphics worked fine. Since ReactOS doesnt support DirectX, I couldnt run dxdiag.exe to see if I had DirectDraw, or 3D. What you can do is open your computer and look at the video card to see what the manufractuer is. I mean shut down the computer and open the case to check the actuall phyicall card. See your owners manual for assistance, as it varies on each computer. But be warned. I had the same problem as you with Windows XP, and it said on my video card. "ATI Rage Theatre 550 PRO." Be warned again, try to ground yourself by touching an unpainted part of the computer case. I zappen one of my computer's motherboard and it doesnt work anymore! I would hate to see that happen to you! When I finally found a way to update the dirver, it said "ATI Radeon 7500 All-In-One." I updated the driver by Running the Windows XP SP2 install wizzard. Even though I didnt have enough Hard Drive space to install it, it still updated my video card! When I scrolled down a web page, there were like refresh lines across my screen, I couldnt play DVDs... But even if you have SP2 of Windows XP already, you can still try. Just download he Windows XP SP2 here: http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us And if for some reason this link doesnt work, go here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/default.mspx

And click on "Download SP2 from Microsoft Update." But... If your video card is outdated like mine (S3 Trio 3D 4MB video memory), even if it is fairly new and can play most games, it might not have new drivers for it. I need to update my Trio 3D card, but I can find any drivers either! Well I hope that helps you. Good luck! Add details to the question if I missed anything or you want me to answer something else about this issue. I will edit my answer to try to help you! Merry Christmas!

you are able to visit administration panel, and disable the gadget, instead of eliminating it like the different individual stated. actually, i could recommend you visit destiny save or someplace and ask them a thanks to do it, or ask them to do it for you, you should pay for it, yet even if it truly is something better than one hundred$, do exactly it your self, and ask for a touch help.
