Whilst visiting a prospective new employer recently, I noticed on the way out that a few staff members appeared to have three monitors laid out (front, angled forward left and right) but only one PC.

What are the benefits of this kind of arrangement?

This benefits people that multitask. I do software development and have dual screens on most machines that I work with. Occasionally having a third screen would be nice, but I can generally get by with two.

Screen 1: Integrated Development Environment (in my case Eclipse)

Screen 2: Browser opened to various documentation sites (Firefox looking at Java or third party vendor APIs)

Screen 3: Server environment, remote desktop to integration servers, chat session with development team, etc...

At home though:

Screen 1: World of Warcraft

Screen 2: Ventrillo & Firefox

I've also read that a fair number of financial analyst use triple head systems but I don't know what the contents are displayed or if they use it as a single wide display.

** Edit **

Matrox has a few video cards that support triple head output.

It looks really cool? Heh. Actually, its for productivity, I do not know what company it is, but some use programs to constantly monitor data. Such as day traders to monitor the stock market. With three monitors you can work on one, and have data available at a glance. For graphics it can be helpful too, since you can work on your main piece with one screen, have your tools in another, and maybe a view of the overall picture in a third. Same with video/graphic editing. These are all guesses. You could have asked when you were there.

Aside from monitoring 3 computers, with the correct video card & cable setup, multiple monitors can display a single computers output; giving greater detail and/or spread out a particular applications view. Useful if multiple columns of data need viewing at a glance, rather than mousing over and over.

It just an optional thing. If you have 2 monitors, you need a splitter, the ports on the motherboard wont have a special connector, thats separate. but anyway, i guess people just like the convenience of hooking up 2 or 3 monitors on a single computer. its nothing mandatory, but something they would do for some reason.

An operating gadget(OS) is an interface between hardware and consumer; an OS is to blame for the administration and coordination of events and the sharing of the aspects of the computer. The operating gadget acts as a bunch for computing purposes that are run on the device. As a bunch, between the needs of an operating gadget is to handle the information of the operation of the hardware. This relieves software classes from having to address those information and makes it easier to jot down purposes. virtually all pcs (including hand held pcs, pc pcs, supercomputers, on-line sport consoles) besides as some robots, family individuals appliances (dishwashers, washing machines), and transportable media gamers use an operating gadget of a few style. countless the oldest fashions would even if use an embedded operating gadget, that would properly be contained on a compact disk or different records storage device. gadget time represents a computer gadget's theory of the passing of time. in this sense, time also incorporates the passing of days on the calendar.gadget time is measured by technique of a gadget clock, that is often carried out as an consumer-friendly count number of the shape of ticks which have transpired because that some arbitrary starting up date, observed as the epoch. heavily appropriate to gadget time is procedure time, it really is a count number of the full CPU time ate up by technique of an executing procedure. it would properly be cut up into consumer and gadget CPU time, representing the time spent executing consumer code and gadget kernel code, respectively. procedure situations are a tally of CPU education or clock cycles and in many situations haven't any direct correlation to wall time. ===== =======

very handy if you do any kind of graphics design program because you can set up 1 monitor to have all the tool bars on, 1 displaying the image only and another for misc.

Good example I use on macromedia flash is using 1 monitor for the overview and another for paintbox/action script etc.

Despite the above post, it is not solely for people running different programs, most the time i see it is with people using the same program, just spreading it out.

hi it means the image from the pc is spanned across the three monitors this simply gives 3 times the viewing area, very common in trading environments when more than one application must be viewed at once, you just need to have a video card that will support multiple monitors.

Financial people, like stock brokers do that to keep an eye on lots of data. The same for network administrators.

Engineers use them so they can do CAD while they look up specs and their regular e-mail etc.

The main advantage is more screen real estate to fill up with data.

You can use it with games for an immersing 3-D experience!

Good luck.

A common misconception is that you will have to be a financial and business expert in order to successfully trade binary options. However, this is not true at all. Learn here https://tr.im/qGPkM

Perhaps it’s true when it comes to traditional stocks trading but definitely not true in the case of binaries. You don’t have to be an expert to predict the movement of certain assets.

this is only advantageous when doing something like video editing or something with 3d graphic design. This way you can have multiple windows and softwares running at the same time and have a different screen for each.

c if u have a big company and u have cam fixed all over the building.. then u need to c it at a time.. so u can fix multiple monitors.. not only 3... more then that... and even for graphics purpose.. like 3d graphics needs more room(space to work)... so you may need multiple monitors..

most buisness people, or people that work in hospitals use this so they won't have to print what is on the other monitor
