You can buy a new DVD burner for about $40 at any office supply / electronics big box store. I prefer the Lite-On or Plextor brand.
In terms of a new monitor, if you want a used CRT, I'd check with computer repair places in your area; I bet you can get a used one for about $50.

Enter "computer repair" in the search box and click the button.
On the next page, enter toledo oh in the city/state box and click the button
You'll get lots of PC repair place names and numbers. Just give them a ring and ask if they have any used CRT monitors for sale.
I'd recommend buying a Trinitron monitor if you're going the used route. That indicates the monitor was made by Sony, so it will probably have plenty of life left in it.

dont buy an old DVD burner as you want the latest technology 16 speed with dl they can be bought new for about $45

go to ebay then you can find cheap stuff and it dosen't matter where you live. I just got a whole system.
