Question:
Is the ASUS MS226H monitor good for gaming?

I just purchased the ASUS MS226H from Walmart and I'd like an expert to tell me if I made a good choice. I read all the reviews on newegg.com for it and everyone who bought it seemed to like it. I'm used to playing on an old 19" CRT tv from like 2004, no HD or anything like that. I'm a big Call of Duty player and I'd really like to take the game a bit more seriously (I want to make commentaries eventually) so I'm going out of my way to try and get things that I think will help with that.

So I'm asking the experts, did I make a good choice in selecting this monitor? And will I see a noticeable difference from my old 19" CRT?

Kyle's answer the following is nicely no longer real. The show mode on that video show doesn't replace the way your video card handles the video output, or impact cpu capacity in any respect. I easily have that specific same video show, and the game mode easily turns off an excellent variety of positioned up processing the video show does to the photo. You get the organic source rapidly going to the video show and the video show doesn't attempt to freshen up the photo in any respect. you'll observe aliasing and an occaisional show screen tear or artifact even as viewing quick action in sport mode. those minor graphical system defects are a commerce off for having the video show no longer spend any time processing the photo. Ie you observe your button press action at present in a sport as antagonistic to waiting a fragment of a 2d even as the video show does positioned up processing. the different modes, nighttime, action picture etc, generally only replace the brigtness / evaluation settings for the lights condition that it expects. Ie nightmode will decrease the brightness so that you do not get eye stress from vivid pictures. -Mike

based upon my experiences any lcd screen with a maximum resolution of 1280*1024 or more is great for gaming. this may be overkill but do enjoy the game.
