Office stores will sell screen wipes. They are the safest way to clean your screen no matter if its a desk top or a lap top.

To clean a CRT monitor, spray some windex, or a similiar product, on a clean, soft cloth, then wipe the screen clean..When you clean a LCD monitor, mix clean water, and alcohol>>50/50..Spray onto a soft, clean cloth, then wipe your screen off..It will do a very good job, I have been doing this, for over a year..DO NOT spray directly, onto the screen..I have a CRT monitor, and a LCD monitor..Good Luck..

Big-Momma said it first, and that's the way to go. I do recommend that you don't spray the windex directly on the screen (it could inadvertently land on something it shouldn't) so spray it onto the paper towel and clean away!

Depends on what type of computer screen you have.
CRT monitor are cleaned very differently from LCD monitors, and you must be careful with LCD monitors

DO NOT USE ALCOHOL...or anything with alcohol in it. Newer monitors have a coating on the front that will be damaged. I just use a slightly damp cloth. On occasion, I follow up with an anti-glare compound I use on my glasses.
