Do you have any idea/advice, on how to play ps2 on a Flat Panel LCD Monitor?

Question

Due to some wiring problem in my suburb, for some reason my tv wiring has 'burned out'. I cannot see any picture on the tv, so before I purchase another tv I was told it is possible to use my monitor as a tv as well. I went to one of the shops today and asked one of the shop assistants in greater depth, explaining the situation.

He told me it is possible but unfortunately he does not know in detail.

I have a 22" Wide Screen Flat Panel LCD Monitor (Dell). It does 'not' have a RCA (white/yellow/red) analog for video input/output.

I also do not have any kind of tv card to watch tv on the Monitor.

However, there seem to be one white output/input 'slot' on the back of my monitor (It has 24 smaller holes for a whole plug to fit in). Also, beneath that slot, "DVI-D" is scripted along with some small picture/sign just beside it.

It would be appreciated if you could advice me on this.

that's easy. I also have this problem when I want to play xbox360 on my LCD monitor. You only need to buy a vga cable. because PC LCD has only vga output, so connect them together. if you want to use this LCD for PC, and you don't want to remove the cable from ps2. You should buy a video switches. That will be more convenient.

Ok, considering that this is a pc monitor (yes?) it should have a vga input ... your standard pc to monitor connection. To connect this way you will need to buy an adaptor (http://www.ps2modchip.com/search.php?page=dvdx) and a standard vga to vga cable. (pick one up from your local computer store). Also, you will need to buy an RCA to RCA cable to plug into a set of speakers etc (as does not transmit sound)

The adaptor (^^^^^) has an RCA output which should allow you to produce sound over a stereo....if you need more help just message me
