Hi,
My toddler had gotten a hold of the water bottle and sprayed water all in the computer monitor, now I am starting to get black spots in the left corners of the screen, and fuzzy lines on the bottom. Is there anything I can do before it gets worst? Can I dry it out, if so how? Please no smart answers. Thanks!

Your best bet is to unplug your monitor and leave it off for a period of time, typically 3-7 days, and let it dry out.

However it will not be able to dry out if you leave it in a dark room/closet, let it have a bit of light by putting it next to the window.

Drying it out is fairly simple, just leave it, in some cases this will not work and you will actually have to remove the back of the monitor to take out the inside so you can get off the front, do not do this while it is still plugged in!

The step of drying out your monitor is a safe practice for most electrical devices to prevent short circuiting and by continuation damage to the device itself.

I had this problem when one of my cats peed all over my monitor. I got all sorts of weird black spots at the bottom of the screen and over time, it would move up into the middle of the monitor. I have no idea how to fix it at home. I had just bought it from Best Buy and returned it/got a replacement.

Hopefully someone else has a simple solution. You might just have to buy a new one.

Rice works for cellphones, maybe it can for monitors too? But that's a lot of rice! Seriously though, if you do intend to use rice, make sure that no rice can get inside the monitor, so you'll want to cover up any openings that are large enough for rice to get in, but you still want to leave small openings so that the moisture can escape and be absorbed by the rice.

If this sounds too drastic, I would just put it away for a while, unplugged. In a few days plug it back in and see if it works.

You should never turn on electronic that has water damage. Electronic with water damage should be air dried 3-4 days before using to limit the risk of frying things up.

I don't know what to say, but it might fix it self :) once it drys

like i know everybody says this, but you shoud call the company of your computer, i mean the like customer service, ask,im sorry if this sounds stupid, but its what i'd do,u should keep your computer in a place that your baby can't reach it, like on a tall desk.
