i recently purchased an LCD TV & connected it to my PC via VGA - however, i can't get a good quality picture.

The picture i get now shows jagged text (quite hard to read), pixelated icons & some ghosting.

My Set-Up:

26" HD LCD TV (60hz) - 1360x768
VGA cable from TV to Graphics Card
Windows XP Media Center Edition
Graphics Card: nVidea GeForce FX 5500 128mb

# i believe it could be a problem with the graphics card or VGA cable i am using (maybe both).

#wondering if a 'DVI - HDMI cable could improve the picture quality'

thx,

hope someone can help me : 0

get a different graphics card.. 128mb is not good, get at LEAST 256 mb, 512 would be best, and tv monitors can to do text i use a toshiba LCD TV as my monitor, works great its a widescreen 20 inch, but you need to play with the controls (settings) as well...

You seem to have the answers already. and and are looking for that "Wild off wall" possibility.

First go through the normal check routine. start cheap/easy goto expensive/hassle

Make sure connectors are connects right and tight.

update drivers , program etc.

Make sure the card and TV is displaying at the Tv's native resolution. (alot of Lcd's don't look as well when its not at native Res)

You said your connected through VGA so TRy going to a HDef format cable Component, DVI , or HDMI. (sometimes thiis is major)

Make sure your card can handle the load. Borrow a similar card from somebody to test with . then borrow a better card to test with

Buy better card or exchange tv

Hope this helps a little.
