I can't find a replacement monitor cable?

I'm trying to replace a monitor cable (not the power cable) for a Dell 17" flat screen monitor. I called Dell, who then sent me a cable, but not even close to what I need. I called back today, and now they don't have the cable? I don't think it should be that hard. Anyways, this is the cable I'm looking for.

Sorry about the quality. If you can't tell from the picture, the cable has 15 pins on each end. Thanks for the help.

Standard VGA cable you can find anywhere they sell pc parts.

Is your cable the same at both ends?

The one you got should have worked. The only thing 'wrong' with it is that it looks like pin 9 is missing. This is a +5V supply from the system to make sure plug-n-play can work while the monitor is off, so it should not stop it working at all.

I would guess that you have something else wrong. If the monitor is powered up but unplugged from the system do you see a test message? It may only be there for a second or two after you power up.

Dell is out of video cables? They have to be joking!

That should just be a standard vga cable. Is one end of the cable built into the monitor or is it detachable? If it is detachable just order a male-to-female vga cable from Newegg.com or Zipzoomfly.com and use that. If not and it is attached to the monitor permanently call Dell.

I sure looks like a normal VGA cable to me, which is should be. So tell Dell they are a bunch of morons and get them to send you a normal VGA cable.

Yep, that is your standard VGA monitor cable or DB-15. whatever you want to call it.

You should be able to find it at ANY electronics shop.

It is NOT a DVI cable.

Probably at Office Depot, or Best Buy. I wish you were here I would give you one. I only have about a dozen or so.
